I really dislike the Sonic fanart and everything about it. Mutilated Sonic himself and then went all the damn fangirls berserk... geez.

I dislike Sonic fanart if it's mediocre or not original... but then, what Sonic fanart isn't?

To be honest, I've tried to make my own fancharacters more original. I didn't make them to be "lol Sonic" in the first place, I was just better at messing around with sprites than I was at drawing, so I used Sonic sprites because they were so common and easy to mess with.
The problem is, two of them are just - no matter what I try to do, they still look painfully Sonic-like, but I love them too much to abandon them somehow, and making a total makeover would create a new character instead of the desired result. As it is, I'll keep trying to improve on them and maybe, someday, manage to break them out of that horrible title "Sonic fancharacter".
... Damn, I wrote too much. Either way, I have a lot of OCs too and so on, but sometimes people just have that one fancharacter that's impossible to fit into another mold. *Shrug* ... Wait, maybe if I try Sonic-izing some of my other characters, it'll help me figure out how to un-Sonic-ize those two! Awesome, you gave me a new idea - thank you!
TL;DR: I agree with you, I have two fancharas I can't manage to un-Sonicize, you gave me an idea.
Anyway, thanks for giving me your thoughts on this. On a rough skim of your gallery (I saw you on my page visits list) I saw you had a few characters that had a Sonic character look, and I was hoping you weren't coming to flame or convince me otherwise, so this is a surprise.
Heh, well, you're welcome for the idea. Also, I think I should add a note to my AC: "If you just can't break away from it, Kudos for trying."
Thanks for your thoughts! ^^

Since those two have the spines and everything, you may be able to see how it's difficult to alter them into another style. But, to be honest, drawing in Sonic-style helped me adapt to "proper" anatomy later on. Kinda. So drawing little Sonic people's better than drawing stickmen, I guess. >_>
No problem!
