And, lemme expand on the last journal. I said it was overrun and pretty much busted by viruses, right? Well, here's why: My copy of Norton Antivirus was a trial version, apparently, and it had expired a month before.
Now, hold your horses: Imagine how wrong that sounds after I tell you I bought that copy of Norton from a Wal-Mart, paid in ~50$ cash, taken home, and installed from a CD. That was supposed to be a trial version?! Mind you, I followed the install instructions down to a T. I made sure. I had this OCD feeling that something would go wrong if I overlooked anything.
A month ago is about the time when the monster started experiencing slowdown, so it all makes sense. I suspected Norton, but for a different reason. I'll be darned.
